The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. There's lots to do in Coleman so don’t miss out! Coleman County Expo is hosting three longhorn shows, Pioneer Market offers market style shopping and longhorns, the library has educational activites, Heritage Hall is hosting The Western Film Festival, downtown offers great shopping, food, and beverages, beautiful murals, and a peaceful city park.

Come early to see the longhorns getting prepared for the show, coffee and breakfast, followed by some great cowboy gospel and music this side of the Mississippi!
Back in the 1880's, downtown Coleman was full of wagons, horses, cowboys, businesses. and pioneers wanting to settle down on a new frontier. Local folks brought handmade goods to town to sell and trade. New buildings were going up and businesses were going in. The dust slowly rose into the beautiful glow of the west Texas sunset from
Back in the 1880's, downtown Coleman was full of wagons, horses, cowboys, businesses. and pioneers wanting to settle down on a new frontier. Local folks brought handmade goods to town to sell and trade. New buildings were going up and businesses were going in. The dust slowly rose into the beautiful glow of the west Texas sunset from the thousands of slow moving longhorns . The pioneers had big dreams of settling in a fresh community and raising their families.
During Great Western Trail Days, locals who love the pioneer spirit, will be around downtown Coleman, dressed in 1880's style, selling their goods, and enjoying the spirit of the era.
Join them in the morning at the courthouse and you'll even get to see some beautiful longhorns. For more fun pioneer activities, stop by the library for some educational fun!
April 2023 , friends, neighbors and visitors will be honoring those who spent days in the saddle riding north, up the trail to push the longhorns to markets. The longest cattle trail in the world connects three countries, nine states, and over 2,000 miles of survival in the 1870's-1890's.
